This Time. Courage
Hello Dear Friends,
I had a short note ready to send you and then I paused.
I wrote a poem a few days ago.
I don't generally share my poetry.
And These Times Call For Courage.
A lot of it!
I'm starting here and now to be more courageous!
(if you don't enjoy poetry scroll down to your assignment below and a playlist!)
This Time-
“Be careful”, the west wind
Whispered to my chapped, chewed lips
This morning.
Don’t put all your eggs in One basket.
And most certainly
Not in that crusty container
That’s been reused
For eons.
Shed the faulty fractured form.
Ride with the stars.
Lift your ears to the arc of rainbows.
Listen to the pounding rain.
And the drifting, towards you, Mists.
Taste the bitterness of hollow
Words from the
—Same ole,
Same ole— Mouths
On different faces.
And then
Place your tongue
Ever so carefully on the bark
Of the familiar red and gold hued Ponderosa.
Taste me.
Change the color of your eyes
The cone retracting and
Discovering anew.
See beneath the rug of discontent
Beyond the blame.
Sniff. Snorkel. Inhale the snow white billows
That line the horizon.
Caress the bluest blue skies
Give your moisture to the mother.
Can’t you hear her needs?
Place your head on the shoulder that
Far distant hill offers.
The emerald swaying grass nodding its agreement--
To hold you.
Lay your insignificant body down.
On the sustaining green and blue Great Body.
Offer her yours.
Sacrifice the separation.
