The Questions We Ask
The questions we ask each other shape how we are together.
That said.
How do you want to shape your time together--with loved ones, near, or far?
We don’t need to ask questions with a hammer in our hand, or righteousness in our hearts and minds.
We can be rooted and open.
We can ask a question we really want to know the answer to.
We can deepen our connections.
Like.
What does your heart want?
What would help you feel more connected?
How could you better hold both humility and chutzpah?
How do you settle your nervous system?
Consider:
Inviting the people you gather with over the holidays---in person, or on zoom, to answer one of those questions together.
It could be 15 minutes of your gathering.
Something new to do!
Give everyone 2 minutes to share.
Ask that everyone listen without responding. Silent listening.
Ask everyone to speak from their lived experience.
Go first and model being honest and vulnerable.
The first share sets the tone.
That's it!
Easy peasy.
Connecting matters,
Carol
P.S. A calming playlist to have on in the background!
P.S.S. And a poem
Questions are like a tall
Majestic Mysterious Ponderosa.
Rooted and reaching.
Breathing in what we breath out.
Answers.
Like the sky.
Clear and sunny.
Roaming clouds or bursts of rain.
